Semsija Etemi obtained a Bachelor of Laws (magna cum laude) in 2012 from the University of Lausanne and a Master of Laws (magna cum laude) in 2014 from the Universities of Lausanne and Lucerne.
After gaining initial experience in a law firm, Ms Etemi worked as a doctoral assistant at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lausanne. She published her doctoral thesis in 2022, entitled “Le pouvoir de direction de l’employeur : concept, étendue et limites”, under the supervision of Prof. Rémy Wyler (summa cum laude, Faculty Prize). While writing her thesis, Ms Etemi worked for several years as an ad hoc clerk at the Lausanne District Justice de Paix. She also taught practical classes in Introduction to Law and Legal Methodology at university, as well as various conferences and in-service training courses, particularly in immigration law. She subsequently worked as a legal advisor for a number of associations, most recently the Vaud Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CVCI).
Ms Etemi also holds a Certificate of “Data Protection Advisor in Companies”, awarded by the Centre Universitaire d’Informatique of the University of Geneva in 2023.
She works in French, English, German and Serbo-Croatian.
Ms Etemi began her legal training on 1st March 2024 at CBWM Avocats.
